Linseed oil contains a higher proportion of omega-3 fatty acids than certain types of fish, and is rich in unsaturated fatty acids and vitamin E. The omega-3 fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid in particular can counteract inflammation, improve blood pressure and blood lipids and thus prevent heart attacks, strokes and thromboses.
Usage
he nutty taste of the oil goes well with many dishes. To preserve the healthy fatty acids, linseed oil is not suitable for frying.
The positive properties have always made it a sought-after cooking oil and it tastes particularly good with jacket potatoes and cottage cheese.
